I had another idea in mind for this assignment but when I saw this guy today, I knew I had to capture him for this assignment.
I walked by this guy, getting within two feet without him stirring once. I wondered if I could ever be so exhausted that I could relax enough to sleep in a very public park. Or maybe he is able to relax because he does not fear loss. He is free to relax because he has let go of all that would control and hinder his need to relax. I walked away with more than a photo as he slept.

![]() I know - it's weird to use this for the "Relax" assignment, and I didn't take these photos with that intention originally, but the little guy was sooo relaxed! He was basking in the sun, and seemed totally comfortable with me circling around him taking at least 20 pictures. At times it seemed like he was posing for the camera! So I thought it was only right that I put him on the internet. ![]() Oympus E 510 Shutter Speed: 1/500 Aperture: f5.6 Focal Length 150 mm ISO 200 No post processing More EXIF data and more photos of the Praying Mantis available on flickr.
