Default Assignment: Texture

First assignment taken 10/05/08.

I call this one Pup Sleeping. My little girl Bella was snoozing on the couch next to me and I saw the way her leg curls into her belly and loved the way the texture of the fur changed on its way around the curve of her side and leg.

Hello,

I'm very excited this is my first assignment.
I have only had the camera for a little over a month.
I am learning and this site has been a blessing.
I look forward to participating in more assignments.
Thanks...DB

Default Assignment: Texture

Here is my take at texture. Some great shots and it was a good challenge to think outside the box. I tried to create this random shape kinda photo.. am urging to call it an abstract but I know it's not.. used the desk lamp for lighting and a white background and went for a closeup shot.

Date taken: October 6, 2008

Camera: Nikon D40
Exposure: 0.025 sec (1/40)
Aperture: f/4.5
Focal Length: 31 mm

Under lock and key

Texture is one of my favorite things to capture in photographs so I chose this assignment as my first contribution to the forum! This is a gorgeous lock that I was fortunate enough to find on an Asian cabinet at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I just love the contrast between the smooth lock and the textured wood!

Took this picture accidentally on Sept 24 and liked the texture of the closeup on this stop sign and the rusting screw that holds the sign in place.
