Thanks Pat!

I owe my neighbours one and I know now just what to do now.....................show their son this picture and then let him nag them until they cave in to buying him this cool outfit!

Nice!

Default 9-to-5 Costumes

[QUOTE=mrlee_1979;280776]I always wear my costume for work... it like putting on my own set of armor, but modified a little..

9-5 Mon-Fri I "play" a secretary at work.. and I feel the same way about shoes with stupid little heels and dressy blouses...

I liked your pic! Great Idea!!!

From the Mountain Man Rendezvous this past weekend. Authentic clothing, lodges, food. It was great!

This answer is found at the very beginning of the Assignment thread. Sometimes you have to do a little digging back in the history of the threads to get answers. Here's how you can post from a Flickr site...

Welcome to DPS!

1. you need to be a member of flickr. You can sign up at the top of each flickr page. Flickr is a photo sharing site that lets you upload your shots and then share them.

2. upload the photo you want to share with us to your flickr account.

3. go to the photo's page - click on the 'all sizes' tab.

4. Choose the 'small' or 'medium' tab (if you choose the large one it makes the page too slow to load for some of our DPS readers who are on slower connections and it won't fit into our design as well).

5. Under your picture you'll see it says 'Copy and paste this HTML into your webpage' - copy the text in the box under this.

6. Paste that text into the 'reply' box in the assignment thread that you wish to participate in. Feel free to add some words about the image.

7. Press 'post preview' to check it worked and then 'submit reply' to post it live to the forum.

Default Assignment: Costumes

Here's my entry - a shot I took for the 7 Days self portrait project I am taking part in this week:

7Days:6 Shepherd

Camera: Nikon D40
Exposure: 1/10s
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 90mm (Vivitar 90mm lens)
ISO Speed: 800
Date taken: 25 September 2008

Rather than put on a serious costume, I've dressed myself with the kind of props that a child might wear for a nativity play if they were cast as a shepherd - a tea towel on my head, tied with a bathrobe belt and an umbrella standing in for a shepherds crook.

That umbrella was very useful - I held it in one of my guitar stands so I could use it as a focus guide before moving into place and taking the shot with my remote. I took about ten shots in total but ended up using the first one (check my Flickr account if you want to see the undoctored original, which is next to this image).

Default Taken too early for the contest

Just wanted to share. This was taken on the 13th so just a few days too early. This was at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

I feel as if you are Superman or something. that your costume is your office uniform, and that in truth you are really a superhero. smart interpretation!
