Default Assignment: 10 Minutes From Home

DSC_6226

After walking for 10 minutes from home I happened upon Mr. Jurgen working on his 1965 VW. Beautiful car in all original condition. it was very bright outside and the reflected light looked amazing on the engine components. I narrowed the depth of field in order to focus on the very pristine motor.

Camera: Nikon D40
Exposure: 1/640 sec
Aperture: f/1.8
Focal Length: 50 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Compensation: -1 EV
Flash: Flash did not fire

Maybe just some touchup work or conversion to HDR?

This was taken literally outside my back door today. I have a huge stand of lantana that attracts butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. This was taken with a Nikon D50, Quantaray Tele-Macro in macro mode, camera in automode set to the flower icon, natural light, no flash (I am still learning the camera....what a newby!).

I can't find the metadata on the shot, so the above is all I have.

Hope you like it.

(BTW, how do you post a picture so it is larger than the one above, and how do you change the camera type under your name next to the avatar..I don't have a point and shoot and want to change to the D50)

That's a hill on the left...looks like I should straighten it, but that's an actual slope.
