Assignment Food

I actually took this just to play with DOF not for the assignment but it fits!

Not exquisite food by any stretch but then simplicity is best!

Melinda, you made me HUNGRY! When I saw your photo, I literally said YUMM! And then looked around to make sure no one heard me. Now I know what I want for dinner, but it'll have to be tomorrow - not enough time to make good bar-b-q...

Well.... Is there an Indian who needs intro to 'Gobi manchurian'?? For others: It's a spicy dish prepared using Cauliflower. The most popular street food in India.
My husband and I had a hard time controlling our urge to pounce and devour this spicy yummy thing! There were no traces of the stuff right after it modeled for me

Aperture: f/5
Focal Length: 36 mm

A different view of a common week

Camera: Nikon D40
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/400)
Aperture: f/8
Focal Length: 48 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0/6 EV

This is a sort of long shot..

My daughter picked me some "weeds" today for a flower bouquet. Most of them were Queen Anne's lace. When I looked at their underside, for the first time, and I noticed the very interesting pattern and thought it would make a cool shot.

Now, what does this have to do with food? Well, a boyfriend of mine, many, MANY years ago, told me that Queen Anne's lace is actually is a wild carrot. You can pick eat the root. So, he told me, if I was ever in a situation of dire circumstances, I could actually eat this weed to help survive.

I always remembered his story and, to this day, often think of his comment when I see this flower. So this common "weed" found in abundance in our part of the world is actually a food!

Let's just hope I never have to put his advice to use!

Irene
