Default Backlit

ok so this week we are going to try backlighting subjects...

my small attempt this morning with a maple leaf stuck with sticky tape on my kitchen light can you picture me up on ladder trying to capture this with my macro lens.. i nearly fell twice...lol



And a chipping sparrow with sun behind/side of him

Preparing to Exit (widescreen)

At this size, it looks more like a silhouette picture but, as it gets a bit larger, you can see the backlighting effect picking out the woman and some of the details on her.

The picture is slightly post-processed (see original), mainly to get the 16:9 ratio I wanted. I was going to use it as another Before and After posting but decided to put it here instead.

My whole goal was to get that tiny whisper of a spider web in there. When the shutter snapped I was *sure* I didn't get it. Was pleased to find I had. Taken with a Canon 10MP Rebel with a 28-135 lens.

Backlit bloom - 4/21/07

I should have used lens hood and not cut off the bottom of the flower... I was too busy experimenting with my close-up filters, though. Next time...
