Ah, drat. Missed it by that much, as Maxwell Smart would say. No sense letting an image go to waste: Here's my would-be entry.

Default Natural framing

Too bad I missed the deadline, but I didn't feel inspired until today. I was laying on the carpet inside the house with the camera propped on an icebox. Me and the dog were watching the rabbit through the legs of the patio chair out back. The picture might have been even clearer if the window wasn't between me and the rabbit, but I didn't want Jessie (the dog) scaring off my subject.

Default Total Newbie Here

I got my first digital last week, a Canon S5, and I'm having a blast!

The "framing" contest gave me a lot of new ways to look at things. This is not for the contest, but I would appreciate some gentle critique and pp suggestions.

Thanks!

It's really too small to form any opinions. It looks nicely focused and composed at that size, but there isn't enough to see to be able to make suggestions. Perhaps if you posted a link to a larger version somewhere.

I'm loading from Picasa... it doesn't have an option for 600, only 400 and 800, and 800 violates the rules. What am I missing?

Thanks for taking the time to help a newbie!

That shot is 144x128px, which is on the small side. 400 would probably be enough. You could also upload a version you have resized yourself or pick up a free account somewhere like Flickr (where you can upload a duplicate and it will give you a resized version automatically).

I haven't used Picasa, so there may be cleverer tricks from there as well.

Default Latest Assignment: Framing

A little late on doing this.

This one is mostly thanks to all the smokey fires over the last few weeks. Got some more of the sun in a very strange magenta color tonight. The sunset was actually boring though since the smoke was so thick you could no longer see the sun by that point.
