Default The Five Senses

This week's assignment is The Five Senses - images that represent one (or all!) of the senses, touch, taste, smell, hearing, or sight. How creative can you be? Here is my example, a morning cup of coffee (smell, taste):

Morning Coffee

Here is a reminder of the rules if you want your photo considered for a place in the mini-contest and a possible moment of glory on the DPS weekly round up blog post:

1. The image you submit should be taken between the 15 May (when it was announced) and 28th May 2008 (up until one of the moderators closes the the mini-contest).

2. EXIF data needs to be intact. It helps if you can include the main points (including camera, lens, date taken, ISO, shutter speed and aperture) in the text of your message.

3. Your post must include "Assignment: The Five Senses" to show your permission to count it for the contest.

4. Only one entry per member (if you can't restrain yourself until the end of the first week you can post two or three separate pictures but your entry should be in a separate post and the only marked with the text above).

For everyone, please do not repeat other people's photos by quoting them until the contest is over. If you want to comment on or discuss an entry you can use a link to it (or just delete the picture from the quoted text).

Next week: From the Hip. See if you can come up with a fantastic shot without composing your picture carefully through the viewfinder / LCD. It doesn't necessarily have to be shot from the hip - what about over your head above the crowds, down on the ground, etc?

Went to a friend's house because I knew he had an old Edison Standard Phonograph. I figured that maybe I could get a nice picture to represent Sound.

We fired it up and the noise attracted his cat. So we also get Smell and Touch and as you can See from the photo;

I'll bet that cat is wondering what it Tastes like!

Coffee with cream. My husband hates that I add it to coffee. Tells me that if coffee were supposed to be drank that way, it would come with cream already in it!

I can't stand coffee without something to go along with it, like milk!

Lattes are delicious!

Sense no evil

This worked out so much better in my mind, but here it is anyway - I wanted to squeeze in all the senses in one self portrait, inspired by the Three wise monkeys.

Sense no evil

This is obviously a clone, but I managed to keep the EXIF from the "bottom" shot. It's availiable on Flickr, but here are the main points:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D (Rebel XTi)
Lens: Tamron 11-18
Date taken: May 21.
ISO: 200
Shutter speed: 0.4 sec (2/5)
Aperture: f/6.3

Two minds with but a single thought Hebe! I was going to use the 3 wise monkeys myself but yours looks so much better then what I had in mind.

Looks like you missed "touch" though, which I was going to illustrate by sitting on my hands.
