Default Assignment: Low Light/Night photography

I did touch this up a bit in PS as well as straightened and cropped... it's hard to get the camera straight when using the car as a tripod!

The Sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro, tripod, and shutter release cable.

I took one a couple nights earlier and plan to take another a couple nights from now...

I will be putting them on my website, it's a fun project!

Hi,
I'm newbie to photography and I've been reading dps articles for a while. This is my first time submitting pictures and using the website (including flickr). Since the pictures was not taken on the specified date, they are not part of assignments. I took them when I had training in San Francisco last April 08.

My Camera is Evolt E-510

its just based on the number of times you've posted.. almost like a user ranking .. nothing to do with the sort of camera you own. (i got caught like this too at first.. )

Cool Sitting in the Wrong Seat

Assignment: low light/night photography

_IGP6963

I live in Alaska and the dark of night this time of year is a short period of time somewhere between midnight and 4am. So to get a picture that qualifies for this assignment and still get some rest for work tomorrow I opted to search the low light of the woods behind my house at around 7pm. This is what I came up with. Explanation: A birch leaf nestled in the crown of a spruce sapling. Hope it works for you.

EXIF:
Pentax K100D
Exposure: 0.017 sec (8947849/536870912)
Aperture: f/4.5
Focal Length: 125 mm
ISO Speed: 200
