I did touch this up a bit in PS as well as straightened and cropped... it's hard to get the camera straight when using the car as a tripod!

I took one a couple nights earlier and plan to take another a couple nights from now...

I'm newbie to photography and I've been reading dps articles for a while. This is my first time submitting pictures and using the website (including flickr). Assignment: low light/night photography



I live in Alaska and the dark of night this time of year is a short period of time somewhere between midnight and 4am. So to get a picture that qualifies for this assignment and still get some rest for work tomorrow I opted to search the low light of the woods behind my house at around 7pm. This is what I came up with. Explanation: A birch leaf nestled in the crown of a spruce sapling. Hope it works for you.
