Not one of these guys as I am in Hobart, but I can understand how it could have happened these guys were working in wet and sometimes gusty conditions to try and get the power back on by night time.

Hundreds of Thousands Without Power After Australian Wind Storms
That's the headline at NowPublic.com. They sent me an email last night asking if they could use this and another shot on their site. AFAIK, they're a non-profit, independent organisation, so I said sure. ![]() Manufacturer: Canon Camera: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL Firmware: Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 Date: 02.04.2008 16:02:11 Aperture: f 3.2 ISO: 100 Shutter speed: 1/125 s EV ±0,00 EV Program: P - Programmed auto Metering mode: Multisegment Flash: Not fired, Compulsory flash light Zoom: 50.0 mm Real Picture density: 240 x 240 dpi File size: 4581455 Bytes Flash:: Not fired, Compulsory flash light Date last Modification: 03.04.2008 18:01:57 EXIF Version: V 2.21 Date Digitized: 02.04.2008 16:02:11 CCD Resolution: 4433 x 4454 dpi Max aperture value: f2 (real f1.69) Custom rendered: Normal process Exposure mode I: Auto exposure White balance I: Auto white balance Scene capture type: Standard Original Exif data @ flickr

I wanted to create the effect of someone being hounded by the paparazzi so I donned my black leather jacket (for the rock star look) and set the camera up trying to get in my face. Flash was deliberately used to blow out the highlights and I converted the shot to black and white and added "film grain" to further enhance the effect:

Thankfully not!
Bless my Peugeot 106 and her 200,000 kilometers! May she live longer! But I was (un)fortunate enough to capture this shot... I doubt it'll make the news, unless something absolutely spectacular happens, car crashes rarely make more than a quick mention these days, while they are still responsible for a lot of lives a year. I found it fitting to post it as a reminder -_-' |
