This picture was taken at the opening of the new Nationals Park in Washington, DC on March 30th. President Bush threw out the first pitch, which made for long security lines at the entrance and plenty of protestors advocating for a big "booooooo."

I know this isn't a hard core news photo, but I'm in a very rural area. Not a lot of fire chasing going on here! I thought about this assignment all week, and nothing inspired me until today. I was watching my daughter and her friend "telling secrets" after school and I thought "Well, that's news. Sort of." Okay, so I posed them, but only after seeing this exact pose naturally hundreds of times! I wish they didn't look so rough, but that's what a full day of school does to an eight year old and a six year old!

Nice shot! I like your choice of processing for this one. And while it may be more "newsworthy" than your other idea, you should do the bathroom scene anyway and tell your boyfriend that those crazy photo nuts online liked your idea . . .
