Exif data should still be intact if you wish to participate in the mini contest.... also the image in question should be taken with in the 12th March - 25th March 2008. Your post must include "Assignment: Panning " to show your permission to count it for the contest.

Next weeks assignment will be " Your Morning"

When I first tried this panning technique I failed miserably. Couldn't get the motion correct. So I had to lower my standards.

    Obviously not for assignment.

    Default Not for assignment

Taken in December, so does not qualify for the assignment. This was taken while passing through a structure of lights sitting in the car. The car moving ahead through the archs created the effect fo lights moving backwards.

    Default Assignment: Panning

    panning

This was hard in that I had to get the dogs to stay, then place the all important ball on the other end of the yard. Get myself in position, get ready to pan and release the dogs ... took a lot of shots to get the right settings and get the panning right, but the dog in front is ball obsessed, so he didn't mind

    Exif on Flickr and below:

    Exposure: 0.033 sec (1/30)

    Exposure Bias: 0/3 EV
    Flash: Flash did not fire

I ran into a problem with the Wikipedia link above; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panning_%28camera%29 seemed to work better for me.

Given that I've never done a single panning shot before, I'm going to need all the help I can get!
