I had to check to see if you lived in Chicago after that response

Default assignment:construction

I took this photo partly for the assignment, but mainly for the cloud. Any critique of it would be nice.

I am not going to trespass on that thing!!

About next week... what's meant by panning? I'm guessing it's some photography technique I'm unaware of rather than the river/stream based mineral extraction technique....

As always, wikipedia helps: Panning(camera)

Simply it's when you shoot something moving. You just follow the subject with your camera which keeps it sharp while the rest of the photo is blurred. It creates strong feeling of movement and speed.

panning refers to the act of moving with the subject to capture the subject in focus and depending on settings getting the surroundings more or less blurred showing motion.
