Default Assignment: Mid-Day Portraits

I used a shade of a playground block to deal with the overhead sun.

Default Assignment: "Mid-Day Portraits"

Septuagenarian

off-frame

Love the "texture" of his skin and his eyebrow colour. A record of a longlife - which he wears with pride!

Photo taken 20 June 2010 at 12:45pm - not exactly midday, but brilliant sunshine as was the primary issue for this assignment. Utilised two techniques suggested by Darren - moved subject to shaded spot & "found" a reflector (the white reverse-side of a car sun-screen). My son held the reflector - to the right of camera and at 90^ to subject.

Camera: Nikon D90
Exposure: 1/320
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO: 640

Hey! Just a head's up- the "subject" of your post should be "Assignment: Mid-Day Portraits", or it won't be considered for the competition. (I tend to forget that, too!) Beautiful picture, by the way!

Default Assignment: Mid-Day Portraits

My son's hair is so light and shiny that the sun just bounces off of it. So, I have to pretty much always photograph him in the shade. I actually tried to get him to pose for me this time.
