Here's my DOF attempt, its called "A study in Pink". I'm brand new to photography just got my first camera for christmas. Any tips you have would be helpful!

This is not a great looking piece of furniture, but I liked the way the engraved scrollwork catches the light from across the room. I took this shot "Handheld", but rested the camera body against the dresser.
