Here's Indy, our Miniature Schnauzer, on a beautiful day this summer. The sun was getting low enough to backlight the dog and give him that halo effect. I don't remember if I used my Canon 350D's flash or my 420EX for a fill light.

Default Two sisters: Love and War




On the left Dushi (which is papiamento for Baby, Darling) and on the right Kissa (which is Finnish for cat)

Here is another one, I like they light in this one and the way that Dushi looks like an angry tiger

You either drug them, which I don't really recommend, or you wait for the standard cat phase called 'napping' to just start to sink in. Then they are naturally that still, yet not asleep yet.

On a more serious note, I've always found taking pictures of cats to be a matter of opportunity. The cats will do what they want when they want for the most part, and you just have to be ready to catch them.

It does make them a worthy subject though.
