ok so i have have always been on the hunt for a good noise removal tool.. better than the built in filter for PS... so i have tried Noise Ninja, Neat Image and while they are good.. some settings are so very complicated... specially for the beginner...

so i finally found a trick in PS that is EASY...lol so i thought i would share :)

1.Open image in photoshop
2.Image> Mode> "lab color"
3.Channels palette
4. channel "a"
Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur 5 pixels
5. channel "b"
Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur 5 pixels
6,"lightness" channel
Filter> Noise> Despeckle
7. Image> Mode> "RGB color"
8. Save image

I have PSPXI. Is there anyone who could translate NaturesPixel's instruction on noise removal - for use with this program. Thank You in advance. I do not know enough about editing to know which is which in the two programs...

I'm rather new to the power of 'lab color' mode... this noise remover definitely shows what can be done therein. Although there is the simple fact that any noise reduction is going to remove a little bit of detail, this seems to be the most efficient method I've come across.

Thanks again for sharing!
