Ok, since the 'true or false' game and some of the other games are slowing down a bit (and some never took off) it's time for a new one. Standard scavenger hunt, one person picks an object, the next person posts a photo with the object as at least one of the main subjects in the picture. Then that person picks a new object for people to look for. Since this is a photo site we want to encourage everyone to use one of their own photos or take a new one. This is definitely not required as it's still fun to play along when you are at work or such and can't get out and take a new picture and upload it.

I'll start, looking for a picture of a ladybug.

still posting because of my wife's lovely story about this frog...
"Frogger was found on the side of I-70. Presumably he was trying to cross, and so his rescuer named him for another busy-road-crossing reptile. Feeling for the frog, and the mortal danger he was in, his rescuer attached him to her backpack where he could be safe and still sightsee, and for many years they traveled the country together. Frogger is retired now to his rescuer's desk, were he spends his dotage with several other small stuffed animals and they share stories of the glory days. " :D

don't have any good funny hats tho..

We were walking by the Experience Music Project in the Seattle Center a couple of weekends back and the guy in the Mountie outfit walked by. I thought that was a little odd until when about a minute later, these cyclists rode by. Even the mountie found them strange it looks like.

After cropping the pic I noticed the "Silver Platters" on the license plate so I Googled silver platters seattle bikes and found the following:

I thought that someone else would come up with your request, but since you have had no takers - I shot this pic of Boise's Historical Synagogue today. It is not my place of worship, but it is an interesting structure. This historical building was built in 1895 and is the oldest synagogue west of the Mississippi River. According to this source (http://www.jewishworldreview.com/1103/shul_moves.php3), in 2003 this building was loaded on a flatbed truck and driven to it's new home 2 miles across town. The trip took 6 hours.

This is in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City a couple years ago. We sat and watched them for a little while, they had quite a crowd around them. They're human statues, they'd move every few seconds and hold the pose. The guy made funny faces or a gesture if you put something in their hat (out of frame).
I took it with my point and shoot, which for some reason decided this picture should be a little blurry.

This is the old garage in Ludlow CA. It sits about 50 feet off the infamous Route 66. I spent many hours in that garage with my father repairing cars. That was many years ago as we moved away in 1972. It's not an artsie pic, but it is nostalgic to me.

I visited a couple of weeks ago and got these shots.

I guess I'll have to cheat alittle, just to keep the game going. These are my own work, but the cactus picture was taken in Arizona in January and the sunset was taken in Washington State. I had to photshop, and it's not my best work, especially the tree. It stuck up above the mountain line, so I had to mess with it. It's kind of like fixing hair, I saw a tutorial on that once, mmm guess I should practice.

Picture of my niece. Notice how she's looking up with her right eye and looking down with her left eye.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i69/smc1377/dps/wtf.jpg

This picture was taken with a Casio Exilim EX-Z40 using the coupling mode where it takes the left half of the picture first, then the right half of the picture. It supposedly allows two people to be in the same picture, seamed together internally by the camera. But I've found better uses for that coupling mode, mainly making some really odd pictures.

Playing off of Seltzer's photo above, give me a photo of an interest or hobby of your's other than photography.

Well, my interests or hobbies are kind of boring... I spend a lot of my free time reading, and beading (my answer is twofold, sorry :p):

alissasanderson

Not sure if these qualify as "antique", or possibly "vintage", or really just "old", but here:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/alissaspics/389509018/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/170/389509018_94f1316fc4.jpg" width="500" height="339" alt="Tools in the barn" /></a>

These are hanging in the barn at my parents' place. Some of them (the curry comb, the nose tongs, the saw) I used as a child, the horseshoe and the chains I think came with the place and have been hanging there 40 years or more. That part of the barn was built in the 20's.

OK, show me a photo of your best friend.

This was taken from my front patio. I had gone outside to see if it was actually raining, since it looked like it was raining out on the front patio, but not about 10' back where my livingroom window is. So, I went outside and found the rainbow. Then I struggled with an umbrella and camera :p lol

I thought this to be a bad shot. Something about it tells me to hang to it. Taken from a Sony Camcorder while I was video taping them. I believe it's a 1MP shot & that was an incredible amount for a camcorder at the time. The lighting was very poor, to say the least.

quick pic-posting rundown:

- click the 'all sizes' button above your pic.
- click on either 'small' or 'medium,' depending on how big you want to post the pic (don't post anything more than 600 px on one side)
- click in the box of html under 'to link to this photo' (it should select all the text for you)
- copy it. paste it here. hit 'preview post' to make sure it displays correctly.

hope that does it for you!

Now, I want to see a couple of foxes :D

I appreciate the opportunity. Unfortunately I only get a chance to log onto this forum once a day so I'm just too slow. Haha. Thanks anyways!

But since others have asked, here they are...

The first two were taken at a State Park in Missouri (USA) where this fox just ventured out onto the road and hung out there. I actually started taking pictures when it was far away, but it just came right up to the car. I have a feeling that people have fed it and so it's looking for free handouts. Worse thing you can ever do to wild animals is feed it.

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i69/smc1377/dps/fox1.jpg

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i69/smc1377/dps/fox2.jpg

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i69/smc1377/dps/fox3.jpg

This last one was taken right from my own backyard. Now I don't live in a rural area. In fact, I live right in a large metropolitan area. No idea why there was a fox roaming the neighborhood (I'm guessing it was a fox, could be a bobcat?). What drew me outside was a horrible screaming noise at 1:30 AM. It sounded like an animal was being killed. That was taken at 200mm (with crop factor, 320mm) with focus set to near infinity at iso 3200 and an external flash at max zoom. I purposely left the noise to illustrate the complete darkness I took the picture in.

Anyhow, back to your regularly scheduled topic (field of flowers).
