Hi, I'm new to DSLR photography and still learning to use my camera (Pentax K100D, 18-200mm Sigma lens). I have pics posted on Flickr, my user name is chookee_1997. I'd appreciate any tips or comments (good or bad) that you have and would like to see your work and the techniques you use.
:)
Cheers

first of all floppy, hello and nice to meet u.
from your pics i can tell that u like sunset/rise pictures. they look good technically for what i can see. my sugestions for thouse pitures are to try to find some interesting things to silhouette in the forground, like people and such. also, you do a good job of this now, but just watch you horrizon lines, make sure they are nice and straight if that is what u are goin for.
i would also like to see some of your other work. try just taking one body and a small lens around with u wereever u go. just shoot were u live, the everyday, and put ur own photographic twist on things. im deffinetly looking foward to seeing more of your work
happy shooting

Thanks for the feed back Zach. I have only been using my DSLR for a couple of months and stuck in desert where I am it can be difficult to get interesting subjects - hence my pre-occupation with sunset/sunrise. In the My Backyard assignments I posted a macro shot of a bouganvillia flower I pretty proud of. I have some cool pics of one of my friends silhouetted at sunset (she also is learning on a K100D), but she has forbidden me to post them on flickr. I am hoping to get some great pics of family and such over xmas. Hope to post them in the new year.
Hope the Holidays are kind to you
Cheers

How have you stopped the sky blowing out? I have been using an EOS 350D as my first camera for about 3 months now and I am going mad taking shots of "anything". I am desperately trying to learn techniques in portraits, landscapes, buildings etc.
Keep up the good work and I hope i can progress as quick as you appear to have done.
