the more blurred background in the after shot is a lot better, but I think I like the 'before' better overall. The colors in it look a lot more vivid.

I agree, a blurred background is good, but the second pic looks over exposed.

I think the before pic is a lot better -- the after is very washed out, and the blur in the background doesn't really look like a depth of field type of blur, it looks more like you used the blur tool in PS.
