Here's my first post... And my first real attempt at a photoshop program!

This is of my boyfriend playing his guitar, inspired from a picture we saw in a magazine (can't remember which one).

BEFORE:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/70277039@N00/367120417/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/177/367120417_f69b68e087.jpg" width="333" height="500" alt="Picture 004" /></a>

I took about four pictures of him in different hand motions on the guitar. I then cropped each hand/arm out from individual pictures and layered them onto one. I then layered my multi-handed boyfriend onto the shown background, attempted to smooth out the edges (although they STILL look blocky and weird. Any suggestions??), and adjusted the color balance and hue/saturation to give him a more 'red' look to fit more into the background. I then used the Burn tool to make his jeans look a little darker. I wasn't sure what to do to with the chair he was sitting on, so I just colored it black and red. Any suggestions with the overall edges of him or what to do with the chair? :) The picture may look a little flat, but hey, this is my first real attempt at photoshop!

Any comments would be nice... I like to learn!

Sita 900,

You're fearless! Couldn't see the Large version of this, so all I see is sleeve/arm far left need lining up. Someone with PS can tell you more about blending edges, etc. Whatever else, exploration is the key. Try everything.
Look at this Portrait-oriented also. Less B/G, let guitarist be the photo.

Great stuff ;-)

I didn't expect to see so many hands! I thought only the lighting would be changed, haha. It looks great. Being a guitarist, I can tell you that I wish I had that many hands.

thanks for the nice comments! I never realized the one arm/sleeve didn't line up, thanks for pointing it out!

That's why I love this place; there's a fresh pair of eyes to see what may have become too familiar. I need that, keeps me on my toes. If you want stuff pointed out, this is your 24-hour facility. Good shooting.

this is hillarious, I didnt see it coming! I thought you would do something like put him next to Kiss or something.

nice job, although, on a more serious note, as a designer, the composition is lacking, its a picture of a guy pasted on a background... it lacks interest other that the fact that the guy has 5 hands

Well yeah, I'm no designer. :p Just did it to practice with photoshop (since I never really have tried it before). Just for fun!!

Wow! I almost can hear the noisy power sound of that guitar.
God work!

This is a very cool idea. Can you do one where he is standing up, hands flying everywhere?

The background is a little distracting though, and the tip of his shoe is cutoff - which for some reason is bothering me.
