First, apologies for being late by a day on this week's WWYD :p
Second, I can't believe that the WWYD threads have been going for 17 weeks, it doesn't seem like it's been that long! There has been a lot of creativity and innovation, and it's great to see people stretch their creativity.
Now, on to this week's WWYD. Peeperita kindly put up a photo of hers to be worked on by everyone in these threads.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/10338505@N05/1234775698/" title="IMG_1212 (by peeperita)"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/1025/1234775698_08103c83d8.jpg" title="IMG_1212 (by peeperita)" alt="IMG_1212 (by peeperita)" width="333" height="500" /></a>
Available larger (http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1025/1234775698_08103c83d8_b.jpg)
The rules are simple, take the photo, and manipulate it however you want in your post-processing program of choice. Come back here, show us the result and tell us what you did so we can learn from you. That's it, as simple as that!
Now, if you want your photo to be the subject of one of these threads, please, please, please drop me a PM with a link to the medium and large size of the photo, and your photo will get used in the order it's received. :)
So, let's see what you would do with this week's photo!

Here is my effort (not as cute as the one above though!)
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/shazzt/1364342357/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1433/1364342357_f2f60b4595.jpg" width="333" height="500" alt="wwyd17" /></a>
Layers in PSE are (from bottom to top)
1 - Total white layer
2 - Photo with Pin Light layer blend and inverted
3 - Photo with Pin Light layer blend (not inverted)
4 - Photo with Overlay layer blend (I masked off a bit of the vase with a gradient to keep a bit of the vase colour)

I first duplicated the layer and put a 50% gaussian blur on the duplicate layer, and set the blend mode to overlay. I then duplicated the original layer again and put an emboss filter on the duplicate layer. Then I added a levels layer to brighten the image up. Then I added a mask to the levels layer so I only lightened up the vases, flowers, etc. and leaving the background darker.

I didn't try to do anything that would look like "PhotoShoped" even thou it is..
I have been trying out a tutorial I came accross called "Digital Blending" sort of like HDR on a shoe string.
This is the article but instead of two photo's I used the one photo and duplicated it then #1 I used levels to show shadow and #2 used levels to show highlight.. for the rest I followed the instruction for the Mask Blending
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/digital-blending.shtml

I thought I'd throw one out there since its been a while.
I brightened it up and upped the exposure.
I then did an ink outline on what i wanted
then added a glamour blur and thats about it besides some little adjustements.

Goal - As seen in the corner of an antique shop
http://www.geocities.com/jhoetzl/photography/wwyd/jh_wwyd17.jpg
What I did:
A high pass (2.2 radius) style sharpen using hard light with about 80% opacity
Then an orange color overlay on lighten blen, with 22% opacity
Then a pattern fill, with a sort of cross hatch pattern overlayed on all that.
A couple quick "burns" on the highlights on the bottom...maybe should have done a bit more with that...
Oh well.

- High contrast adjustment.
- Sepia toning.
- Paint black border on new layer.
- Gaussian blur border.
- Lower opacity on border layer.

Hi folks, first post here and let me say what an awesome forum to stumble across with what seems a great community.
So here's what I did:
I layered the image over the background with blend mode set to soft light, gaussian blur set to 4.9.
Then I added a curves adj. layer to help warm up the tone of the wooden vase and the image in general; I pulled the red curve up slightly and the blue curve down slightly.
I added a brightness adj. layer for the whole image.
Lastly, I dodged the shadows in the center just a bit to get rid of the dark spot.
Hope y'all like it.

Hi folks, first post here and let me say what an awesome forum to stumble across with what seems a great community.
Welcome! Glad to see you participating in these threads, we always love to see what people can do with the pictures. Hope you keep participating in the WWYD threads and even consider adding your own picture to the series (see the first post of any WWYD thread for how to do that). :)

Nicole...you ever think that our little idea would still be going this long. Going on its fifth month......!!!!!
I want to say to all who have supplied the canvas for us to make our own art THank you.
The photos have not been ones that are so bad they even needed post processing on. Some have been really nice as they are in their original state.
Thanks again everyone for participating and also thank you Nicole for the trouble you go through each week to keep this alive.
