D40 Pop-Up Flash Problems?

Has anyone had any problems with their pop-up flash breaking open on their D40? I'm seriously considering a D40 purchase, but I noticed that the pop-up flash on the display models at Best Buy and Wal-Mart were both broken.

So, should I be concerned? Durability is important to me.

No problems so far. I suspect it may be because the cameras at places like Best Buy get handled by a lot of people who don't really care (including some who probably try to force the flash up).

I was looking at ovens a few months ago and noticed that, in the large stores, the display models often had broken or missing knobs. In smaller shops, the same ovens looked pristine and so much better - lower levels of traffic and probably less people fiddling unsupervised.

Therefore, I suspect the same is true of cameras.

I figured it was probably due to someone forcing the flash up, but what concerned me was that none of the other brands had broken flashes. Only the D40's had busted pop-ups - at both stores.

I would bet it was from people forcing it and not knowing you need power on for the button to work. I know before I bought mine I almost ripped one off trying to open it not knowing that.

no probs with mine either and i also noticed the same thing in our best buy. i also was a bit concerned but so far its working great and i love the camera
