Can someone please tell me how to take sharp prints of an image of 1200x1600 pixels and the print size shown by photoshop at 300 dpi is 4x5 inches????
I need atleast a 9x12 in print of it.

I have seen printing labs take sharp prints of images smaller than this... how do they do it? Any idea?

Any softwares that anyone can recommend?

If you can get yourself a copy of "Genuine Fractals", this program works well.

There are a few things you can do.

You can use the already mentioned "Genuine Fractals" program.

You can send your image to a print shop and let them know what you want to do. Some of them will resize your image as part of your order, some will charge an extra fee for it.

You can resize the image in Photoshop using the bicubic sharper function (see Scott Kelby's directions in Photoshop CS2 for Digital Photographers (http://www.amazon.com/Photoshop-Digital-Photographers-Voices-Matter/dp/0321330625/sr=8-2/qid=1169087288/ref=pd_bbs_2/002-8439117-0779259?ie=UTF8&s=books)").

While there are ways to minimize quality loss (Such as genuine fractals, and other programs/plug-ins), upscaling will never give you the same quality as something done in it's native size.
It's a shame, but it's part of the price we pay for using digital.
