as taken levels adjusted slightly in PS

change to B/W and slightly blurred, have no set format for converting to b/w or soft focus, every photo is different and thats how i process them, one at a time and adjusting to how the photos feel( bit arty farty i know) but it seems to get good results.

A nice shot both pre and post processing. Something seems a little off in the after shot, and I can't put my finger on it. If this were my picture I'd play with the brightness and contrast a bit.

I think the jug in the background is distracting. If it plays a part in describing who you are, then perhaps it could be more prominent; otherwise, I'd lose it entirely (either crop, reshoot or, if you feel fancy, try to clone it out).

I also wonder if the highlights would look better a bit brighter. You don't want your forehead looking like a billiard ball but you could probably do with lightening up a bit ( ;) ).
