Hello,
I have Nikon D80 camera and I noticed strange spot (5 pixels - like cross) in my photographs. I thought it was just one bad pixel affecting ones around. But today I noticed that this spot is only in JPEG photos, it is not in RAW (even after developing to JPEG in Lightroom).
It is not even in the same place in the JPEG photos but it always somewhere near the center. (I'm not 100% sure about that)

Do you have any idea what it could be?

Some one on here posted the same question I believe. Maybe someone remembers who it was.... I would try a search. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I tried it but was unable to find anything relevant so if anyone could help, it would be great.

It appears to be a hot pixel (which, incidentally, is a nice term to start searching for).
Stuck pixel is another interesting term.

I believe it was this thread: Weird object in my shots (http://digital-photography-school.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3976)
It could be a hot pixel. If you're using Nikon Capture NX (or other programs) to import, it might be removing it automatically from your RAW file when it processes it. It does sound like this is a common problem with the D200. More information available at:
Nikonians (http://www.nikonians.org/dcforum/DCForumID202/17779.html) (How to test for hot pixels)
Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/groups/d200/discuss/72157594153862522/) (What to do about hot pixels)And the reason that it probably didn't come up in a search is because it won't look for words that are 3 or less characters (annoying for HDR or in this case, hot). :)

Well, problem solved. Thanks Nicole for the idea that PC software corrects it in RAW photos. I don't use any Nikon soft but apparently Lightroom can do this. When I tried opening photo in Irfanview this hot pixel was visible in RAW photo.
I will not do anything about it now, it is not big problem. I just wanted to know what it is. I'm aware of possibility getting this pixel remapped but maybe later,.... :-)
So thanks everybody for helping.
