I've been trying to take before and after photographs for surgery
and other medical procedures with a canon rebel eos xti. I'm trying to photograph wrinkles, body hair, and areas before and after liposuction.
Frequently it either won't flash or take the photo or the details
are so faint and washed out as to be useless for distinguishing
before from after. also if i try to photograph darker skin against
a brown background it won't fire at all. What should i do? The only light has been the fluorescent light overhead and the flash. When I've tried using an additional light, it definitely washes out the detail. Thanks

Denise, I'm assuming that you're shooting in auto mode if the camera is deciding whether or not to fire the flash. If you still want to be in an *auto* like mode, swith it to P (Program) mode and flip your flash up. The flash will always fire.
I wonder if the problem is that your camera decides it can't work out the shot (difficulty fixing exposure or focus) and so deactivates the shutter? Perhaps switching to fully manual mode (and getting to grips with handling exposure) would fix your problem?

Ohh, and you might want to set the White Balance on something and keep it there cause your before and after might be colored differently. You don't really want normal looking skin looking jaundice or anything.

Anyone of u having problems with your photos like staining, getting yellowish. I also got these problems some days back. But, now I met with a website whose main work is making our photos look nice by doing photo restoration, reconstruction or retouching depending upon the damage happened to our photos. So, if anyone has like that photos, these people are doing for normal prices. ....
Fireia - I have clipped off the end of your message which looked a little too much like an advert for commercial services (ie. spam) for someone making their first post on the board.
Please contribute the site, helping people out and asking your own questions and then, as you establish yourself as someone who is part of the community and not just a salesperson, there won't be a problem having a link back to a business.
