CANNOT SEEM TO GET PHOTOS FROM FLCKR TO HERE SHOULD I BE USING 'ATTACHMENTS'?

I loved this picture but it was pretty dark

Using Photoshop I extracted the dog from background, used a levels adjustment layer to adjust the colors and then brightened him up with a brightness/contrast adjustment layer. I created a blank layer and filled it with color. After merging the layers I dragged the picture on to an 8 x 10 new white image and put the text on the left side. On a second 8 x 10 white image I put the greeting. I printed printed one image on one side of the paper and the second image on the other side. I cropped the paper to 7 x 10 and folded the card to 5 x 7

Did you read this about posting pics?

I like your finished picture. That dog is so cute! Nice job fixing it.

Yes, I read the directions, printed them out, and followed them - more than once.

But I just checked, and the links in the post were not the same as the links under the pictures! So now they are right. Next time I will check that little detail

Very cute and funny picture! The coloring looks much better on the finished product. Just watch your edges- they look a little raggy(something I struggle with as well)

Overall well done. As real elves will tell you, we prefer our ears to show fully. It's the law. Did you try 7 x 5, landscape? If you do one with full earage, you will like it, and the elves won't leave things in your socks . . . just a suggestion.

(yes, as on a card. Thanks wulf. Must...remember...to...be...clear)

I agree with jiminy - I think it would be good to show the ears in all their pointiness. Perhaps a landscape format card?

An easy way to "soften" the edges when transferring to a new background is to apply a feather once you have your image selected. You can also set the feather amount before selecting the picture, 2-4 pixels is really all you need in a high-res image.
