This is an older model, I got it about two years ago I think.
I am trying to make decent photos, but it is much too dark in our house (not enough windows I guess) and even with all lights on all the photos are or too dark or too blurry (or both)... I don't want to use flash because my model is my 5 months old son... And with the flash he looks just too pale ( and I don't want to make him blind :))

Thanks for your help.

What about going outside? Or exploring every bit of light coming into the house and getting your son to position himself near the windows (while not including them in your shot so he doesn't come out underexposed).

oops, I meant he is 5 months old *lol*.. so outside is not the best idea. It is freezing cold and I still want to see some of his skin ;)

Thanks for the idea, I will try to put him next to the window, but will be hard with a baby :(.

You are certainly much more limited with a child that young. Can you get someone to sit and hold him safely in a position with more light? They could either become part of the photo too or, if you zoom in, you will just get the baby and nobody else.

my boyfriend hates my hobby, so... no :) he doesn't understand why I want to make so many photos of the little one (forgetting that 9 / 10 of them you can throw away anyways :)) and my son also has to be in the mood for to be taken pictures of...

I just thought I could make some adjustments in the camera to have better photos...

Hello I have the same camera, I have no problems in low light conditions with no flash. What settings are you using?

I tried the whole palette (though no manual stuff, I don't have (yet) any clue about that (ok, a bit, but have work fast and can't experience too much with my kid) I guess nonmoving objects would be better... ;)

I am thinking a setting is off on the camera. I take pics of my dogs in the house in low light and no flash and the pics come out depending on the time of day good. A good program thats free to download is Picasa2 from google very nice editing software.
