On Monday I took a few pictures of a visiting cat in my garden and yesterday I posted the original images up. This one was my favourite and got some interest:

However, within an hour or so of working on it and posting today, this one has picked up a lot more interest:

The only alteration has been to crop it down to make more of that wonderful face - hardly even Photoshop 101 but very effective and making a much more captivating image.

Cropping is a great way to generate more interest and I agree that the second image of the cat is much more interesting. It pretty much follows the rule of thirds which is always a good thing plus, there's a greater depth of field. Great job! Keep up the good work :)

Less is more. Simple can be the best way to go. Colors seem more intense, just by virtue of there being more of it. Nothing in background worth keeping. Well-done.
