Well that's 2 weeks in a row I've forgotten it was Tuesday :p So, here's this week's picture from the person who came up with the idea for these threads, xxpinballxx :D Now, since he started the idea of these threads, I think we've really got to show him what we can do with his picture. There is no larger version of this picture available.

So, as usual, show us what you would do to make this your own, or how you would improve it. It's really up to you. Don't forget to tell us what you did so that we can all learn from your examples. I know I'll be impressed again this week with all your efforts.

As usual, if you want your picture to be the subject of one of these threads, just send me a PM. Pictures are used in the order that they're received. If you have any other questions (about this thread of course, I can't tell you what the meaning of life is ;)), drop me a PM and I'll do my best to answer.

So, let's see what you would do!

Here is my first try at What would you do?
I used Photoshop Elements 4.0 on a Mac iBook G4.
Made a copy of the background and worked on the copy.
Used saturation filter for the colors.
Used the magic wand to hi-light the back ground and replace it with some clouds.
Used the clone tool to replace some of the birds head and remove some of the leaf by the birds head.
Used the blur and sharpen tool around the edges of the photo and on the birds face and the nest.

Tried to get it to look like a painting without using a filter, all that I did to this was loads of cloning and then adjusted the hue and lighting of the new background.

Oh yes, I cropped it as well.

My goal with this "what would you do" was to give this birdie a new home. But, what I did here I wouldn't normally do to my own photographs...:)...I like to try to preserve reality...but in this case we are having fun and practicing post-processing!

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/7845858@N05/779499353/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1134/779499353_4ad475dd9e.jpg" width="459" height="500" alt="What you would do #8" /></a>

What I did:
-Cloned cloned and cloned some more...took out all the leaves and then cloned in some new parts of the bird's head.
-Increased the brightness (curves)
-Copied the image
-Opened an image of mine that included a bird's nest with eggs.
-Pasted the copied baby bird as a new layer onto this new photo.
-Erased the 'background' of the copied bird image so just the bird's head remained.
-Cloned some new nest sticks into the bird's body to make it look more realistic.

So now the baby birdie has some brothers and sisters yet to hatch...:D

Impressive as always Teewinot :D You did a great job putting the bird into his new home.

Firemaine, looks great! Like Teewinot said, you should've joined us sooner, but there will be plenty of other opportunities to participate :)

JJthethird, another great job of cloning to create the full head. I'm really impressed with how well everyone is fixing the bird's head!!

Firemaine I think its excellent....you took one of my terrible shots and mde it look like something. I really like the background you got in it and the way the head in all the shots is now popping out at ya more.
When I get back from Vegas I'll be sending you a couple shots for future WWYD thread Nicole.
