i just got my whibal today and i love it. if you dont know what a whibal is, then i encourage you to read (www.rawworkflow.com/products/whibal/index.html) about them and white balance tools in general.
i am willing to provide test shots and some impressions if anyone is interested.

I'd be interested in hearing about how it works and seeing some test shots. I'd really like to know how easy it is to use as well. Why not put a review of it up in the Other Photography Gear (http://digital-photography-school.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=14) forum? :)

I just earlier today posted a thread asking if anyone used this as it looks very interesting. I would love to know your exprience. Which one did you buy, are you shooting raw or jpeg and are you using it to set custom wb in the camera or just using it to adjust after the fact. I understand that you should not use auto wb with it, rather pick a fixed wb, but for raw it really does not matter what you pick.

If you use Joel's link. Over on the left hand side it says this, "Whibal™ White Balance Reference Video User Guide". Click on that & you'll find a series of videos that give a lot of info on what it is exactly & how to use it. It gets a little long winded but has some great info.
Kirbinster: From your original thread, it looks like exactly what you need. Check out the videos.

I think this is exactly what I need, but I would sure like to see the test shots and the impressions from a user not just from the company trying to sell it.
Isn't this just basically a greycard? Or am I missing something?
The hot new thing in white balance is apparently the expodisc (http://www.expodisc.com/products/products.php?catid=1&category=ExpoDisc).

It might be, its got grey but also black and white. That is why I want more info from a user.

Actually, the three-card version is old. The newer one is a single grey card with a black & white sticker on it, and the sticker is basically to tell you if you've got reflection screwing up the works.
I like my Whibals. They work exactly as advertised. I've used the medium-sized one for both setting custom white balance, and for the one-click color correction in RAW, and it pretty much does exaclty what it's supposed to in both cases. Takes all the guesswork out of color correcting, as long as what you want is the color the object really is. I'm not so sure I'd use it for something like golden hour...
It's probably still expensive for what you get, and a regular gray card might serve you just as well, but I like the Whibal. I just don't seem to have the discipline to use it every time I need it...
