this was kind of a fluke...

i played with the curves and levels... to get that dirty look off jumbo..

then to bring out his wrinkles more.. i used the dodge and burn tools.. this is a mater of trial and error it doesn't work with all images.. tho it does work good on clouds.. and wood buildings...

I don't know... I think the beefed-up contrast adds drama to the shot. The original is good, but I like the more contrasty version better.

I think you did a good job, the after effect is nice and the border/frame makes the elephant standout!:)

Its amazing what a bit of dodge and burn will do. The border really adds to the image as well.
Nice work. A good improvement.

Love it! Sometimes I use the dodge tool on hair highlights, and dodge and burn are fun to use on black and white pics for some neat contrast - never thought about clouds and wood - will definitly be playing around with that.

I like the modified look. The boldness of the wrinkles is a nice effect, imho.
