Hi Darren and others,
I just discovered this site today and after looking through the archives, think that you have come up with some brilliant material. However, I tried to subscribe to your RSS feed using first the link at the bottom of each blog page and then using the link in the header. Both times I was redirected to the blog homepage rather than to a valid feed. I then slightly nefariously tried to access /wp-feed.php, /wp-rss2.php, and /wp-rss.php (since you're using a WordPress system, which I also use, so know the structure). Each time the feed accessed was completely empty.
Why have you decided to ban all use of feeds? You have clearly gone to some trouble to set up .htaccess rules for feed links to redirect to the homepage, and to ensure that feeds are effectively turned off in WordPress, but I fail to see the reason for this! Perhaps you're worried about advertising revenue, but I don't see any ads on the site. I notice that you have got an email subscription service, but I really don't want to use this: I get enough email as it is and much prefer to keep up-to-date with sites using my feed reader. At least if you're absolutely set on turning feeds off, please remove the link from the bottom of the page and from your header tags (you'd need to hack WordPress a bit to do this).
I'm really sorry if this comes off as a bit pushy; I also apologize for posting this in the forum (I would have emailed it to you direct but there's no contact information listed on the site). Please understand that all I want to do is read the excellent content you're producing! I'm afraid I would forget regularly to come back to the site, and feeds have proved themselves to be very useful in my daily routine.
