Well, after further investigation, I think I have decided to upgrade from the a100 to the a700. Now I am just trying to decide whether I should sell my 18-70mm lens with my a100 and replace it with the 16-105mm lens. A couple of reasons why: firstly, I think I would have more chance of selling my a100 with a lens; and secondly, I really like the idea of the 16-105mm lens.

Just wondering if anyone has this lens and how you find it, or what others would suggest.

Thanks.

i have that camera and i like it alot compared to the other alpha models. It has more options and functionality then the others which is the reason i chose that camera. But are you going to get the a700 with the kit lens plus the 105 or just the 105 byitself along with the body?

Where I was looking, the camera was sold as body only. I'm not sure what the kit lenses would be. I currently have (from my a100) the 18-75mm and 70-300mm. I am definitely keeping the 70-300mm, but thinking of selling the 18-75mm with my a100 and then buying the 16-105mm.

Hi,

i am just considering to trade in my A100 for the A700. Not that I really need all the fancy stuff, since I still had thing to learn with the A100, but I find it annoying that the A100 cannot store settings (i.e. ISO and always return to defaults). Plus that it is loud.

Can you please share your experience on the A100 vs. the A700? Is it worth it? (I am using the Sony 18-200 for everyday, accompanied by a Minolta 100mm Macro, and am intending to buy the 50mm 1.4 lens, all of which I would keep and just get the A700 body).

Any input is welcome.
