Original is here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/25476327@N05/2401836716/in/photostream/)

I was playing with some old pictures and gussying them up a bit, now that I've found people willing to look at them, and I'm wondering if I over-cropped this one a bit.

I also tried to bring up the color a bit with the gimp tonemapping tutorial (http://gimpaddict.googlepages.com/tonemapper.html), but I'm not sure the effect is really noticeable.

Mr Guy,

That question may be one only you can answer: if you want viewers to appreciate the horses and young lady as individuals, this is a good crop (a little tight on right side). If you wished to show a "scene" generically, showing all of horses, lady's feet, and more fence might be better.

The right half of this would make a good portrait crop, one horse and lady, who would then be on a good thirds alignment.

Rule of thirds here. Original crop focuses more on the lady, this crop focuses more on the horses. My personal opinion is that the original crop is better.

I think this picture would work well with contrast bumped up, vibrance up, saturation down a bit, and vignetted. Just a suggestion!

Cute pic. I would have cropped to lady and one horse or shown full body inclduing feet. I think cropped in to just the lady and horse would make a very nice photo. You are lucky to have caught his ears up - I think horses always look prettier that way. Agree with krypticide on the vignetting - but I'm partial to the technique.

nice pic... better if you will emphasize the part that you are feeding them (are you?)
