I've resized your picture to Flickr's medium size per the forum rules (all in the FAQs (http://digital-photography-school.com/forum/faq.php)).

I don't mind the composition, but the scene seems a little dark, so the skateboarder doesn't seem to stand out as much as he could. Is the skateboarder someone you know so that you could practice taking more pictures getting closer, etc?

I've just started taking photos of downhill skaters, as well as new with the SLR world... There will be many, many more opportunities in the future to shoot and learn.
