If I could, I'd suggest shooting from a lower angle so that I can the people in the background aren't cut off like so. I'll also give me a better "feel" for the action.

Agree with shooting from the subjects level. You may also think about shooting from the other side to get the sun at your back.

Cute shot - I agree with the other two - One suggestion though with the lighting, since the subject is a little dark - I saw an article on DPS about using flash in daylight to help get rid of the shadows cast by the sun at the back..maybe try that next to to help out a bit?
