Would love some hints about how to get the best animal photos 'on the run'. What are the key things to consider when time, lighting and angle may not be optimal? All hints welcome. Lucky to get the shot attached, though lighting could be better...

Tough question. Kinda hard to answer because each situation would seem to be different. For this one a fill flash may have helped but you were probably quite aways away.
How many cameras do you have?
Also, I added the exif info for you, please be sure to do that in the critique section. thanks!
Oh and one other thing that would improve your shots dramaticaly is to take me with you on your safari's! lol
