I am not sure if the subject should stay centre photo or crop so the subject is looking into the space on the right of the photo?.
I used a Nikon D70

Please be sure to post your exif info when posting in the critique section.
But I think there should be a little more to the front of the goose to give it room to walk to, to look to and to keep the gooses head from being right smack dab in the middle

necks, are funny. in potrait photography, showing the neck with a shoulder, coller etc make it easier on the viewer.
the subject here looks cramped up in the frame, a nice TACK sharp image, great colours, and the shallow DOF contrast nice and provide focus of the goose.
however giving the goose more "room" in the frame would be easier on the eyes, i think you comment on providing some viewing space for the goose would be nice - room on the right side of the frame.
would it have been possible to show more of the gooses' body?
nice pic.
