I used a Nikon D80 with these setting: 1/60s, f/5.6, 135mm.
I cropped the photo and tweeked the contrast to high;ight the fur. I then added a vignette to take the focus off the red couch in the background. My idea was to capture the moment of enjoying a cat nap literally.

I think the vignette is too obvious. I would tone it down so that the picture isn't completely obscured round the edges. You could also desaturate the red a little to make it less prominent.

i agree with wulf that the vignette is a bit overdone.....especially when it obscures that deliciously textured cat's ear.....

however, the red is right up mty alley and it seems to touch off the pinks in his nose...

Hi dormick,

I like the composition; particular the colors and contrast. My cat does this nearly all day long. I like the creative use of the vignette; however, wulf and peeperita have some expert comments that would prove helpful.
