The original version of this was practically useless because I totally overexposed it. Here is the original caption I used on flikr:

Photo taken in Georgetown, by those famous steps.

The original shot was overexposed (bright as hell), so I worked with Shade/Highlight to bring it in a bit. Unfortunately there was a lot of noise so I blended it with a Gaussian blur in Multiply mode. Whether it looks like a real picture or not, the idea was to still preserve the concept and vision in the shot.

I think you done a good job reviving an over-exposed photo. These stairs are very interesting - I would have called it Stairway to Heaven with the bright area at the top. Your friend makes the shot and even looks like she's kneeling. I love the texture of the stone on the left. I might have cropped off a little on the right side to make the stairs not go through the center of the shot. :)

i like your idea of the title...lol...i actually didn't get creative enough with that, the stairs are from the movie so i just threw that name on there lol...i'm glad u like the texture of the stone, i was pleased that it came out that way...so you'd move the stairs more to the right?

I think I would but not too much. The corner of the window on the right just bothers me - so I'd crop off enough to get past the corner. I like the lines of the bricks once that is out of sight. If you go back, try some different angles to get more of the stone wall on the left in. This would be a fun place to play around with shooting. Thanks for sharing and if you do go back don't forget to share again!

i agree that this is a fine recovery to this image's overexposed nature.....you have preserved the texture in the buildings well.....

i also agree that a crop off the right edge would help with the converging of your building......if you are interested, try cropping just past the leading edge of the building.....

thanks for sharing
