I am about to buy a cheap used camera for my photo class, I need an SLR relflex traditional (film) camera, so I went looking around and ended up with one particular model in my head, the Canon A-1 (http://www.adorama.com/US%20%20%20%20248628.html), its an old camera but it still works like a charm.

it comes with a nice 50mm/1.8 lens and a wide angle 28/2.8, all for about 233$ + tax

the price does seem a little steep, I mean, in Amazon I found this one (http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Rebel-K2-Camera-28-80/dp/B0000CCT65/ref=sr_1_14/002-0631838-9152005?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1173136610&sr=1-14), EOS Rebel K2 for 250$...

I dont have much time, so I must know if I am getting a good deal on the A-1? is it a good camera?

if not, then what would you suggest from http://www.adorama.com/ ?

Thanks in advance.

saralonde, thank you very very very much, with that post you single-handedly eliminated all my doubts, and added a few new reference sites to my bookmarks.

Ill buy this camera! :)
