Looking to get better at getting pet pictures. Here is one I recently took of a dog. Looking for any feedback, but specifically suggestions on better crops of this photo....thoughts?
I had a set of these photos, but lost all but this one by accident during a hard drive clean-up....so dissappointed.
Shot is pretty much straight from the camera with minimal post-processing.
Thanks in advance!

Cute dog! As your main question pertains to crops, I would say cut out equal portions of top and right, which will leave his eyes at a better ROT intersection and still give him space to look into.
Nice catchlights in his eyes and the DOF is good. I like the neutral couch pillows in that they don't compete for attention like the surroundings in many pet shots.
Tough break about the hard-drive accident.

I totaly agre with Ross about the crop. The dogs eyes are certainly the main focal point and without the distraction of the furniture around him would bring them out even more.
I particulary like the catch light in his eyes. Really adds character.

Oh what a cute dog and well-behaved! His expression is sweet. I love it that you got a cushion for him so he can be comfortable "posing" for you! I'd say, good job! ;)

Thanks for the great feedback. Will definitely give the suggested cropping a try.

I really like this picture - your dog is adorable. I know the composition doesn't follow the thirds rule, but I kinda like the picture as is with his eyes centered since he's looking at the camera - it looks like he's staring into your heart - but I'm kinda new at this photography biz. It would be interersting to see the cropping suggested above though, too.
I also like the light accenting the top of his head and the catchlights in his eyes. I really don't see anything I'd do to make it better (I know that's not very helpful - lol)
