Not sure if this would fit into another critique section better, so I am putting up here. So my question is about cropping on this one. I tried to leave it enough room to breath a bit. Do you think it needs more room? Also, I rotated it just a bit CW about 5 degrees. Do you think i should do it a bit more? I really dont want to lose the orientation of the main two blooms up in the left side. Thanks, and any other help would be appreciated!

Taken with a tripod and overhead kitchen light seconds before the tripod broke :(

Hi jonny4now:
First, let me say...sorry for your tripod...

About your questions. I like the crop as it is. If you give it more space it will add a minimalistic touch which I think would be great for those red colors you have. My best option will be to play with more space and with many rotations until you find the one that tells you "This is it".
As for the detail in the flowers, they are great. The advantage you have is that you used a black background, so it's easily expandable.
Great shot and thanks for sharing it!

I think this is an OK place for it, because it isn't really macro or landscape.

I like the crop as is too, it might be interesting to see different versions, because I think it could work several different ways.

I think the rotation works as-is also, there's enough motion diagonally through the frame to maintain interest without being obviously tilted.

I'd just like to add that on my laptop's screen I'm seeing faint indications of background object(s).

I do think it might be interesting to see a closer crop. My reasonings is the stem in the lower part of the photo is a strong focal point to the eye.
There really isnt anything wrong with the way it is, it's all a matter of preference.

It's not as apparent on my CRT but I think the background is dark enough that blacking it may be worth considering.

i must be in a fine frame of mind this morning.....:)

i like this image as is.....the crop and rotation are fine.......and i especially like the backlighting on your petals.....they help retain definition to the flowers that might otherwise be lost to your background......

and keep that color saturation as is......it has a very natural feel to it....

thanks for sharing
