Another shot I would like to get your guys opinion on.
I took this because the zig zagging wood beams just seemed interesting.
What do you guys think of the subject? Do you like the chosen crop? and lastly do you feel this works as an abstract shot of sorts?

Exif:
f-2.8
1/800
ISO 100
70mm

Thanks guys!

I see the effect you were going for but it may have helped if the board in the foreground were a bit sharper. Its softness condition acts as a bit of a "speed bump" in slowing me getting into the frame and tends to distract rather than add to the image because of its size and presence.

f/2.8 definitely made me go "huh?"

I shoot wide open in broad daylight all the time, but that's for sports. For something like this I'd start with f/4 and shoot multiples, stopping down to f/8 eventually. I'd also try using different focal points.

It's a good concept, the execution just needs a little polishing, but seeing it in your head is the first step.

I agree, I'd like to see it all in focus. I also wonder how it would look if you pulled back and went slightly higher, maybe capturing that near left corner.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will re-shoot this some time in the near future with larger apatures. I could not tell if the out of focus board in the foreground worked or not.
