A Photo I took years ago on top of Signal Hill in St. John's Newfoundland. It was my first moonlight/silhouette shot. Just wondering peoples take on it, technically, emotionally, etc etc.
I wonder if tall and narrow would be better than the landscape format above. You would lose the width of that low bank of cloud but you would also lose the railing over on the right. I think the result would be simpler and more transcendent, focusing more clearly on the relationship of the figures and the light of the moon.

I tried it but I'm not sure if I like it

Hello Sid,
I like both but my favorite is the vertical one because the attention on the subjects (peoples and moon) is better captured.
There is a good athmosphere in this picture.
Very well done.
Regards.
I definitely prefer the vertical version - if anything I would go for an even skinnier crop, like a bookmark.

I don't have any suggestions but just wanted to say it's a beautiful image!
I dont think so on the skinnier crop....mainly because the moon isn;t directly above the people and the more you crop it the more apparent that becomes.
Thanks guys for the suggestions and compliments thus far!

I love the vert shot best . Would be prode to have taken this shot . This is something I'm going to have to try out . Would be nice enlarged as a picture on the wall . This is what I thought it was at first a shot of a picture .
Hi. I'm a newbie to this forum.
Uhm, I seem to like the uncropped version better 'cause you get more sense of the wide open view.
The railing doesn't bother me much, but I still think it's a good idea to edit it out.
Also, I'd get rid of the moon glare(perhaps from a filter on your lens?). I think it ruins the other wise great picture.
Other than that, its perfect. I love the details of the clouds from afar and also the bright sky(I see stars!!). Great work.

I love this picture is there any way we can see a full size version of it? There looks like a lot of detail I am not able to see in the reduced version. Maybe either clone out the right side fence or play with different crops as Wulf suggested. But it is definitely a keeper.

I like the skinnier cropped one a lot better than the bigger one. Nice capture!
