[My Thoughts]
This is a picture from a cosplay event, SOY. The person is cosplaying Kakashi from Naruto. I bought him to this "bamboo-like" place so that it will suit the character that he was cosplaying.

I was reading http://digital-photography-school.com/blog/where-is-your-subject-looking-and-why-does-it-matter/#more-246 and I was wondering if the picture was acceptable (the direction that he was looking).

I also would like to have comments on the composition.

Thank you ^_^

qING, Welcome

When possible, a 600-pixel (longest side) photo is a better choice for posting in Critique. I've hosted this one this first time, and if you can replace my temporary edit with one of your own, it will help give Critiquers immediate contact with your work. Thanks for giving EXIF and specific question.

Composition is impressive in your photo.

I used to be a big fan of anime/manga, but seemed to have grown out of it. I used to prefer the classic stories such as Ninja Scroll and Sword for Truth rather than the general pop culture. Do you have any image editing software at all? I reckon with some post processing and general fun messing about you could turn that image into any number of comic/graphic styles.

Nice color, sharpness and tonal qualities. Perhaps it is cropped a little to close for my eye. I am undecided about the angle as it makes him appear off balance (unless that is what you were going for.)

I find it's a tad out of focus, other than that though it's a good picture. Maybe sharpening just a smidge would do? Depends on what kind of PP software you have, so I can't give you tips on how to do that right now :)

It's a neat picture. I used to like anime and mangas but have grown out of them. My favorites were Chobits, Kyuuketsuki Hime Miyu, and some others I can't remember now. Not really into the 'new' ones lol

the angled composition adds a bit of drama and is more than acceptable in my book...

Thanks for all the comments and compliments. I am using GIMP 2.4 for my post production. However, I did not adjust much for this photo.

As the composition, I am actually quite concerned about the "chopped off left arm". However, if I showed more of the arm, the photo might seen weird, or out of balance... What do you think?

Thank you.
