Hi

Another shot from my walk at the weekend

Saw this old saw bench by itself in the middle of the woods so clambered through the vegetation to get a better shot

I treated it to a sepia look to get a different feel

I have the shot from a different angle and further away but crop and tightened the shot as above

Any comments welcomed please

Thanks

I like the idea, butr I'd bump up the contrast a bit, give it a harsher look, but then that's just my particular taste in B+W. The actual scene leaves me a bit flat- there's no real context for me. Maybe if it was shot at a different angle- maybe portrait, the table looking small and lost in the woods?

Hi

Thanks for the comments

I also do prefer B&W but on this occasion decided for sepia to give a different feel.

do you mean something like this...

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/garethtp/2224042458/" title="Darwell Reservoir saw bench b&amp;w 27-1-08 by bateryman1970, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2367/2224042458_42f57cb248.jpg" width="324" height="500" alt="Darwell Reservoir saw bench b&amp;w 27-1-08" /></a>

I have other shots on my Flickr Page if you want to take a look

Cheers

I like the second edit you posted more. It looks much lonelier in that crop, which I gathered from your original post was the effect you were after.
Don't know if it would look better 'harsher' (meaning with darker shadows etc.). Might be worth a try.
