Wow this whole forum split kind of creeped up on me out of nowhere. Hopefully I'm in the right section.

The following is a picture from a religious celebration in the Filipino community. The day celebrates the people's pagan past and their acceptance of Christianity. There's been a recent revival of it among Filipino communities in America throughout the past decade. This is a group getting ready to do a traditional Sinulog dance.

i guess in this particular photo b&w is a good idea, though i can't be sure because i haven't seen the colored version. sinulog is very colorful, the colors will be a bit distracting if you want to focus on the two subjects. i like the story that's going on with this photo, btw. :)

This looks good, but I think it would have been better had the highlights from the window had not been blown out. The photo is very journalistic, and composed well, though I think I would also like to see a little (very little) more contrast. Very good though, can you post the color version?

this , i am sure , was a memorable moment that you cared enough to document......


the contrast of light is very severe, making this a difficult image to capture correctly.....a little fill flash wouldf have probably helped....
